Quality education is an essential need for every child. The gains we've made in increased per pupil state funding in the last legislative session must stay in place, and cannot become a property tax burden due to the Legislature's budget miscalculations.
Student loan debt -- the next big economic bubble -- needs to be addressed. College debt is placing a disproportionate burden on young people and their parents. Tuition rates, low-interest student loan consolidation programs, and work for loan forgiveness programs need to be examined.
